Barry Hasten has the necessary experience to aggressively and efficiently handle a wide range of litigation matters. He has developed a reputation throughout Texas as an expert in handling large complex fire losses including wildfires.
I was born in Princeton, New Jersey, but ended up in the Dallas–Fort Worth area as a teenager and never left. I graduated from Trinity High School in Euless then moved to Denton to attend the University of North Texas where I received my BBA. I earned my Juris Doctor in 2003 from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, currently known as Texas A&M University School of Law. I met my husband in law school, and we reside in Arlington, Texas with our two school aged children.
While attending law school, I was fortunate enough to work for Hasten & Hansen. It was while working here that I gained the knowledge in all subrogation matters. Upon graduation, I became an associate attorney and have represented insurance carriers ever since. I have handled property damage cases due to negligence, products liability and construction defects. I have also handled automobile and vehicle cases including personal injury matters.
I have participated in classroom instruction for the expert certification course for the International Association of Arson Investigations which requires classroom teaching on all phases of expert and trial testimony.
I love to spend quality time with my family and friends whether it’s travelling afar or spending time near home. I like to be active with my family, and enjoy supporting my children’s school and extra-circular activities.

The Law Office of Barry Hasten opened in 1992 and I have been self-employed ever since.
Our practice is a general civil litigation practice. I enjoy the challenges of handling different matters. We have a large subrogation practice representing multiple insurance carriers in large fire and water damage losses, typically involving product liability and negligence. Our firm has handled personal injury matters, breach of contract, corporate litigation and bad debts over the years. I have developed particular expertise in handling fire cases. I have handled many hundreds of fire cases, some which my clients claimed damages have exceeded $30,000,000. I have been involved in almost every major wildfire in Texas since 2011. I have been asked to teach classes to certify Arson Investigators for the IAAI since 2006. In 2011, I received the prestigious John R. Rauch Award from the IAAI Texas Chapter for teaching Fire Cause Determination throughout the State of Texas.
Barry enjoys being with family outdoors hunting, fishing, working on his bulldozer and tractor on the family ranch in Jacksboro, Texas.
Voted one of Tarrant County’s Top Attorneys by his peers from 2009-2016 by Fort Worth Texas Magazine.
“It's important to build real relationships with my clients. I want them to trust me and the decisions I need to make on their behalf.”
